Halloween Tips 103: Be a Living Dead for Halloween with Zombie Inspiration

Halloween wouldn't be perfect without Halloween make up from the classic horror films of season's past. Remember the spectacular zombies found in the cult George A Romero films like Day of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead? Those stunning zombies looked absolutely great, the zombie makeup still holds up twenty years later. If you're looking to take a dive into the iconic pale white skin, remember we've got some tips that help your Halloween character come alive or should we say make living dead.

For your eyes, you can grab a pair of wildly crazy black sclera contacts to make your eyes look like those of the undead. After all, normal human beings possess the natural eye hues that we are accustomed to like blue, brown and even grey. But having sclera contacts on your eyes will reveal the hidden undead inside you. You definitely will stand out by having your eye color match the living dead.

Sclera contacts are really high-quality contacts, and are very 'production value' quality, the kind they actually use in films. These are decidedly not cheap, but if you're seeking for optimal quality and natural looking Sclera contacts then you will be pressured hard to find a better pair.

Lots of people without much experience in applying scary makeup are intimidated by the process. This is something that we understand when writing our Halloween makeup tips.

Tips for getting your Halloween makeup right - Focus on accentuating one feature and let the rest of your face complement that feature. For example create a bold lip paired with soft eye makeup to draw attention to your perfect pout. Start by contouring your eyes and cheeks with Golden Nova and Stellar Mocha Luster Powder. These soft shimmery colors will give definition without overpowering the lips. Next, line then fill in your lips with the Red Liner Pencil.

Focus on how your walk is effected by the way you died. Think of how your Halloween makeup is actually about how your character died. The best zombies tell a storied death. Remember to have a good gait, saunter around just like your fellow creatures of the night.

If you want the ultimate transformation Latex Prosthetic s are excellent options but do require a bit more work than a basic makeup application. If gluing things to your face doesn't appeal to you or you just want your transformation to happen a little quicker you can eliminate the prosthetic and instead opt for the simplicity of Crème Foundation Makeup set with Translucent Powder. Eyes are essential to this look, so be sure to emphasize them with Black Smoke and White Whip UltraSilk Eye Shadows.

Make sure your makeup, and ideas are complimented by the clothing you wear. A good zombie knows her fashion and will have the correct clothing for Halloween. Think bloodied, torn clothing but not ragged. For a freshly dead zombie go for every day clothes that you can find at the thrift store. If you want to be a long dead zombie, grab a suit jacket and slacks. Be careful not to scare your unsuspecting neighbors by being too realistic with your character.
